I’m here waiting (new song)

When I wrote this song I wrote it mainly thinking of a relative of mine who isn’t in a good place and seems to have started with thier parents divorce. I also thought of writing about a few different people who may of for one reason or another walked away from God. This song doesn’t only apply to people who have walked away but also to those who may of never new him before.

I’m Here Waiting
Jeffrey Reum

Verse 1

Little boy in his bedroom, just got some really bad news

Mom and dad don’t love each other, and daddy’s gonna move

Something inside him changed that day, his world was torn all apart

All his hopes and dreams were crushed, and it broke his heart

Chorus

And God’s saying

I’m here waiting, for you to come on back to me

I’m here waiting; I’m just one step away

Right by your side, is where I want to be

And when you cry I’ll come running to you

No matter how far you run away from me

I’m here waiting, I’m just one step away

Verse 2

Five years later, same little boy

He’s gotten into trouble, and he’s running out of second chances

He’s been running so long, it’s all he’s ever known

Unsure of what to do, he carries on in the same old way

Verse 3

Turned 18 today, and he’s finally going home

Not the same boy he was, when he was locked up

Someone paid him a visit, and told him of God’s saving grace

Something inside him changed that day, and he got a brand new start
